A cohort course in the craft of the poem: image, line, form, music, revision, and the ending you didn't know you were writing toward. One live session a week, one poem a week, close reading in between.

Two hours, twelve seats
Standalone evening classes on one thing at a time — the sonnet, the prose poem, the list poem, the elegy. Read three examples, write one draft, hear it out loud. Come to one or come to all of them.

One to one
Up to five poems
Private feedback on your own work. Send up to five poems or a manuscript section ahead of time; we spend an hour on what the poems are doing, what they're avoiding, and where to go next. Written notes follow.

Every class starts with somebody else's poem, because the fastest way to learn a move is to watch it land. Then you write — in the room, from a prompt, twenty minutes, no editing. Whoever wants to reads aloud, and the response is specific: what arrived, what wants air, what the poem is doing that you hadn't noticed yet.
Nothing is workshopped to death and nothing said in the room leaves it. If you'd rather write from grief than from craft, the Writing Through the Fire workshop is the door for that instead.
